About Rush Fitness

Once a thriving gym chain headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee, Rush Fitness operated 23 fitness centers across four southeastern states: Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. David Carney served as the President and CEO and helped build the brand’s reputation for high-quality, community-focused gyms. In 2014, Gold’s Gym acquired Rush Fitness, turning each location into part of its global fitness network. Founded in 1965 by Joe Gold in Venice Beach, CA, Gold’s Gym is now owned by TRT Holdings and is headquartered in Dallas, Texas. Post-acquisition, former Rush Fitness locations have been updated and rebranded under the Gold’s Gym name. These gyms maintain a commitment to helping members of all levels feel welcomed and supported. Whether you’re trying your first workout or training regularly, Gold’s Gym is equipped to meet your needs. Facilities include advanced cardio equipment, a wide selection of weights, and resistance machines. Other features include a Mind & Body studio, women’s workout area, steam room, sauna, Cardio Cinema, and full locker rooms. Basketball courts and a Pro Shop add even more to the experience. Group classes include everything from Bootcamp to Yoga to Group Cycle. A Kids Club is available to provide child care while parents work out. Certified trainers are on-site for those who want customized plans and professional guidance. Membership fees vary by location and plan.
